Foundation Receives Generous Gift from Paint McCormick Pink Event

(McCormick, SC, November 21, 2024) – On Saturday, October 26, 2024, the City of McCormick once again came alive in vibrant shades of pink as the community united for the second annual “Paint McCormick Pink Breast Cancer Walk.” This highly anticipated event, held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, brought together residents and visitors alike to raise funds in support of the fight against breast cancer. The overwhelming community support and dedication demonstrated this year reinforced the event’s growing impact in McCormick.

Building on the success of its inaugural year, this year’s event saw approximately 200 participants take part in the symbolic walk through downtown McCormick. With a fundraising goal of $10,000 for 2024, the community surpassed all expectations, raising an astounding $15,395. These proceeds will benefit the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation’s Cancer Fund, continuing to make a meaningful local impact in the fight against breast cancer.

The event once again created an atmosphere of hope and unity. Participants walked the three-block route through downtown, which serves as a powerful symbol of the journey faced by those impacted by breast cancer. Vendors and a lively DJ contributed to the day’s energetic and uplifting atmosphere, making it an event to remember for all who attended.

The second annual Paint McCormick Pink Breast Cancer Walk not only exceeded its fundraising goals but also strengthened the sense of community in McCormick. As the event grows year after year, it continues to inspire and demonstrate the power of collective action in the fight against breast cancer.
