For five years, the Foundation was the title sponsor for the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Women’s Health Classic, the LPGA/Symetra Tour professional women’s golf tournament held at The Links at Stoney Point. This Symetra Tour special event raised funds for women’s health initiatives at Self Regional Healthcare. The economic influx generated by this partnership has been substantial.
There was a natural connection between Self Regional and the Symetra Tour. The tour is a professional ladies competition, and the opportunity to focus on women’s and family health was a no-brainer.
As the primary beneficiary of the tournament, the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation received funds from the event to support community outreach services for Lakelands area women and their families. The proceeds from the tournament provided an avenue for women and their families to access health and wellness services in a non-traditional setting that is convenient, non-intimidating and affordable.
