Save the Date: The Arctic Gala — Beneath the Northern Lights

The Northern Lights are coming to Greenwood.

Self Regional Healthcare Foundation is pleased to announce the theme and location for the 39th Annual Mid-Winter Ball, set for Saturday, March 6, 2027, at Lander University.

This year, guests will step into “The Arctic Gala: Beneath the Northern Lights,” an elegant evening inspired by the beauty and wonder of the aurora borealis.

Led by 2027 Ball Chairs Chelsea Castellone and April Timms, the evening will transform Lander University into an immersive Arctic setting featuring rich jewel tones, shimmering details, dramatic lighting and the unmistakable glow of the Northern Lights.

While the theme promises an unforgettable evening, the purpose behind the celebration remains at the heart of the Mid-Winter Ball.

Proceeds from the 2027 Ball will benefit Self Regional Healthcare Foundation’s efforts to support the development of a new Comprehensive Breast Center for Women at Self Regional Healthcare. The transformational project will bring breast imaging, diagnostics,

navigation, education and support services together in one welcoming, patient-centered location. Designed to enhance the experience for women and their families, the Center will expand access to advanced technology while providing compassionate, coordinated care close to home.

“The Mid-Winter Ball has always been about bringing our community together around a shared purpose,” said Timms. “This year’s theme gives us an opportunity to create a truly beautiful experience while keeping our focus on something even more meaningful—the future of breast care for women throughout our community.”

Castellone added, “We want this year’s Ball to be an evening our guests will remember, but what makes it truly special is knowing the impact will last long after the evening is over. We are honored to help support a project that will make such a meaningful difference for women and families in our community.”

For nearly four decades, the Mid-Winter Ball has brought the community together through philanthropy and celebration in support of healthcare throughout Greenwood and the Lakelands.

Guests can look forward to an evening of dinner, dancing, live entertainment, a silent auction and special experiences woven throughout the evening.
