On June 13, 2019, the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation honored 8 recipients of the Mary Ella Ruff Nursing Scholarship and the Charlotte Blackwell Memorial Nursing Scholarship.
Araceli Lezama de Jesus, Kaitlyn Metts, Kensley Lothridge, Laura Gonzalez, Ricardo Zamorano-Juan, Tonekea Thompson and Trinity Fulmer were all recipients of the Mary Ella Ruff Nursing Scholarship receiving $1,000 each. This Scholarship is named in honor of Miss Ruff who was a truly dedicated and exemplary nurse at Self Regional for 35 years. The scholarship is awarded annually to persons enrolled in a certified nursing program in the State of South Carolina or to practicing nurses who are advancing their professional skills.
Brianna Haddon, Ji’Ne Arnold and Ricard Zamorano-Juan were recipients of the Charlotte Blackwell Memorial Nursing Scholarship. This scholarship was established in memory of Charlotte Blackwell, one of the most dedicated and inspiring critical care nurses to ever serve at Self Regional Healthcare. The scholarship is awarded to individuals who are enrolled in the nursing program at Lander University or Piedmont Technical College and wish to spend their careers at Self Regional Healthcare.
