(Greenwood, S.C., August 10, 2023) VELUX North America recently announced that the company will be making $125,000 pledge over the next five years to the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation’s Equation for Progress Campaign. “As one of the largest employers in Greenwood County and the region, VELUX is proud to support the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation. We know that our team members have benefitted from the outstanding healthcare services provided by Self Regional Healthcare,” said Chuck Rimsky, President, VELUX Greenwood LLC.

The Foundation’s Equation for Progress Campaign is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and prostate cancer. Gifts generated for the campaign will fund the purchase of daVinci Robotic surgery technology and the creation of a comprehensive breast center of excellence for women. Thus far, the Foundation has generated over $2 million in new gift income for the campaign. “Self Regional Healthcare is our hospital. We know how important it is to have a premier healthcare provider right here in our community for our employees and our families. That’s why our company has made this significant gift. What’s more, thanks to our partnership with Self Regional’s Occupational Health Medicine program, our Light & Life Wellness Center has been a big plus in terms of providing worksite healthcare to our team members,” said Rimsky.

In accepting this generous pledge, Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Chairman Tim Hodges said, “We are so very grateful to VELUX Greenwood for their leadership gift to our campaign. I dare say that all of us have had a family member, or a friend, or a co-worker that has been touched with either breast or prostate cancer. Thanks to VELUX and many others that have and that will give to our cause, we are certain that we can make a difference in the lives of those stricken with either of these two forms of cancer. We look forward to the continued support of VELUX in the future. It is our hope that by their example of leadership, other major employers in the community will join this campaign.”
