Savannah Lakes Village and Self Regional Healthcare Launch Health & Wellness Series

On July 30, 2026, Self Regional Healthcare orthopedic surgeons Dr. John Cathcart, Dr. Doug Powell, and Dr. Ed Mottern discussed “Orthopaedic Options for Lifelong Mobility” to residents of the Savannah Lakes Village (SLV)  The program was held in the SLV Recreation Center.  The physicians provided an informative PowerPoint presentation and discussion about orthopaedic specialties including knees, hips, hands, and shoulders.

On August 13, Self Regional Healthcare cardiologist Dr. Paul Kim addressed “Heart Disease: Treatment and Management in 2026 and Beyond.”  Combined attendance for the programs was nearly 250.  Following the presentations, the physicians took questions from the audience, mingled with the attendees, and enjoyed light refreshments compliments of the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation.

“We are excited to offer these types of programs to our community. This series gives us an opportunity to educate our residents about the wide array of healthcare services by Self Regional Healthcare and how these services benefit the quality of life in Savannah Lakes and the McCormick region,” said Andy Roth, director of Recreation for SLV.

“Special thanks to another former Marylander and SLV resident Carroll Warner, for his help to bring these programs to fruition.  It was a pleasure working with SLV team members Pam Harley, Andy Roth, and Tonya Edmunds to launch this series.  Providing education on healthcare is an important aspect of the work our Foundation performs.  Many of the residents of SLV are new to the area and these kinds of educational programs are a tangible way for SLV residents to meet our physicians and learn about the healthcare services available to them.  We hope to continue this initiative in partnership with our friends at Savannah Lake Village and the McCormick area,” said Ken Coffey, Executive Director of the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation.
