(January 7, 2022, Greenwood, SC) – The Self Regional Healthcare Foundation had every intention of returning their premier fundraising event, the Annual Mid-Winter Ball, to a live event in February 2022 especially after going virtual in 2021 due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. However, with the emergence of the Omicron variant, the Self Regional Healthcare Leadership along with Ken Coffey, Executive Director of the Foundation, have made the decision to postpone the Mid-Winter Ball until the spring. The new date is Saturday, April 9, 2022 and the venue will be the James Medford Family Event Center at Piedmont Technical College.

Taking the helm of this year’s event are Honorary Chairs, Glenda Corley and Amanda Dunlap. The theme is Welcome Back Mid-Winter Ball:  Let’s Dance!”

Amanda and I are thrilled to serve as the ball chairs for 2022.  We believe there is a bunch of pent up demand to get people back together again.  That’s why we came up with ’Welcome Back Mid-Winter

Ball: Lets Dance!’ theme this year,” said Corley.

The headlining entertainment will be the ATL Groove Factory. This 14-member dance band will play for four consecutive hours.  “We decided to do away with the live auction based on feedback that the live auction took a bit too long and broke up the party. I’ve seen this band and they rock,” said Glenda Corley.  “I’ve heard about this band, and my friends and I are really excited about them playing for four hours straight with no break in the music. That will keep the party and the dancing going all night long,” added Amanda Dunlap.

As one of Greenwood’s most anticipated social events of the year, the black-tie evening is traditionally a sellout. “After having a virtual ball” in 2021, the Foundation anticipates a very positive response to returning to an in-person event,” said Ken Coffey, Executive Director of the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation.

Attendees will be treated to a gourmet menu created by Self Regional Healthcare’s Food and Nutrition staff and all will have the opportunity to participate in the silent auction again.

Since its inception, the Mid-Winter Ball has raised over $3 million on behalf of Self Regional Healthcare. Proceeds from this year’s ball will again benefit the Foundation’s next campaign which will be launched later this year.
