(Greenwood, S.C., November 7, 2022) – On Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Lander University, the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation, along with the Greenwood SC Chamber of Commerce, held their second of a three-part series, Medically Speaking, a new program that features a number of healthcare professionals showcasing the local healthcare system and how it benefits the quality of life in Greenwood and the Lakelands region.

In this series, Dr. Todd Hansen, Urologist, presented a program to Lander students, faculty and the community on “Surgical Robotics: What’s In It For the Lakelands?” The program featured an in-depth look into how the new da Vinci robotic technology works.

“We are extremely excited to offer this program to our membership and this community. This new series gives us an opportunity to showcase our healthcare system and how it benefits the quality of life in Greenwood and the Lakelands region. We know how important Self Regional and healthcare is to our members and to our community, and our Chamber is thrilled to be part of this effort,” said Ken Coffey, Executive Director, Self Regional Healthcare Foundation.

One final Medically Speaking program for the year is planned for Tuesday, December 6, 2022 and will focus on the prevention and treatment of strokes, featuring Dallas Swartzentruber, Coordinator of Self Regional’s Stroke and Trauma Program, and Jennifer Clary, Director of the Stroke Program at Self Regional.
