2026 Medically Speaking Series

The Self Regional Healthcare Foundation is excited to invite the community back to Lander University this fall for the 2026 Medically Speaking Series, presented by the Business and Industry Committee in partnership with Lander University and the Greenwood SC Chamber of Commerce.

Medically Speaking gives community members a unique opportunity to hear directly from Self Regional Healthcare physicians, learn more about important health topics and ask questions in a comfortable, conversational setting.

The three-part fall series will feature specialists in neurology, pediatrics and endocrinology:

  • September 30 — Neurology Close to Home
    • Featuring Dr. Ryan Hakimi, Medical Director of the Neurology Service Line and System Stroke Medical Director at Self Regional Healthcare
  • October 15 — The Growing Years: Exploring Pediatric Care
    • Featuring Dr. Viarda Polanco and Dr. Ingrid Valente of Pediatric Associates Greenwood
  • November 10 — Inside Endocrinology: Understanding Your Body’s Balance
    • Featuring Dr. Karen John of Full Circle Care at Self Regional Healthcare

Each program begins at 5:30 p.m. at Lander University and will include time for questions from the audience. A reception hosted by Lander University will follow each program, giving attendees an additional opportunity to connect and continue the conversation.

There is no cost to attend and no registration is required. The Self Regional Healthcare Foundation is grateful to Lander University and the Greenwood SC Chamber of Commerce for their continued partnership in bringing this educational series to the community.
