Western Jamboree II

On September 22, 2023, the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation’s Annual Support Committee hosted its second annual Western Jamboree to recognize Self Regional Healthcare team and community members of the 1951 Club and Madame Curie Society.

The Jamboree II was held at the Lander Equestrian Arena. The evening featured BBQ with all the fixings from Marion Moore and his team at Stumps BBQ. Howard’s on Main provided the adult beverages, and the crowd was treated to live music by Ryan Pitts and the Southern Gentlemen.

The Foundation gives special thanks its sponsors for the event: Robins Morton, Cultured Cowboy, Harley Funeral Home, Satterfield Construction, O’Dell, TICI, American Termapest, Bonitz. Eaton, and Sharon Mulkey.

Funds raised from the Jamboree go towards the Foundation’s Equation For Progress Campaign in support of Self Regional’s DaVinci Robotic Surgery program and the creation of a comprehensive Breast Center for women.

Bornemann Wall Unveiling

During 2021, we lost one of our beloved friends and members of our Legacy Circle, Lynn Gilbreath Bornemann.

On August 31st, family, friends, and clinical staff gathered for the unveiling of the Lynn Gilbreath Bornemann wall which reads “Peace, Love, Courage”. These words were carefully chosen by her family and placed in the Cancer Center to encourage and inspire patients, their family members, and the staff as they enter and exit the building.

Never in all the proud years of our future will her name be forgotten.

2023 Scholarship Awards Breakfast

On August 30th, the Foundation held its annual scholarship breakfast and awarded six recipients.

Miss Ruff retired in 1975 after working for Self Regional for 35 years.

Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Holds Summer Social for Generous Team Members

Foundation held a Summer Social on Wednesday, August 23rd to show appreciation to all Self Regional Healthcare employee donors who show their generosity through giving back to their organization. The Summer Social included music, fellowship and free desserts from Kona Ice and Vampire Penguin of Greenwood.

During the Social, a drawing was held to give away a FREE one week stay at an oceanfront condo in Murrell’s Inlet. The Foundation staff also awarded team member, Courtlyn Sargent, for recruiting the largest number of team member donors during the hospital’s Team Member Campaign Committee contest.

Throughout their campaigns, the Foundation acts as a steward to the hospital’s employees who would like to give back and become a part of the mission to be the best place to give care and the best place to get care. The Foundation comes alongside these generous employees and talks to them about whatever size gift they are able to give, and then aids in funneling that gift into a place that will make the greatest impact for future healthcare in the Lakelands.

Currently, the Foundation is raising funds for the Equation for Progress campaign which focuses on the two leading forms of cancer for men and women: prostate cancer and breast cancer. Money raised through the community’s giving will fund the hospital’s daVinci Robotic Surgery Technology, as well as the completion of a Comprehensive Breast Center of Excellence for women.

If you are interested in giving to this campaign, please see the “Ways to Give” tab on our website or call the Foundation office at 864-725-4256.
